Mumbai (Thane) 11-01-2019 early morning at about 6 45 am a lady rag picker was raped under the Govind teerth pool bridge of Ambernath East. A case under section 376 of the Indian penal code has been registered by the Shivaji nagar Police Station. The victim was taken to the Central Hospital Ulhasnagar for medical assistance. The rapist has not been arrested yet. The police are still investigating the case.
A lady ragpicker, resident of the Ekta nagar jhoppadpatti the slums beside thePandav kaalin Shiv Mandir Ambernath East had gone to the garden adjacent to the Govind pool bridge collecting plastic and metals, when a man believed to be in the age group of 30 to 40 was sitting there overpowered her and raped her . The man left the spot soon after raping the lady . The lady has complained to the Shivaji nagar police station Ambernath east. The lady’s husband is not keeping well and is at home.
A huge crowd had gathered at the bridge at about 4 Pm when the police team had visited the spot to do the panchnama and collect evidence because rumours about a lady raped and murdered had spread
